Different types of housing
You can search for different types of housing and contract types via the Stockholm Housing Agency.
Student housing (studentbostäder)
Those who are studying or have an admission certificate to a university, college, post-secondary vocational education and training or higher vocational education in Stockholm county can apply for student apartments. Read the requirements in the advertised apartments.

Youth housing (ungdomsbostäder)
If you are aged between 18 and 25, you can apply for youth housing. The apartments are often between 20 and 40 square meters with a more affordable rent.

Senior housing (seniorbostäder)
Special housing designed for senior citizens is a possibility if you are aged 55+. Senior apartments are designed with the needs of older adults in mind. These apartments always have good accessibility. This means that the apartment is located on the ground floor or the apartment building has an elevator. Bathrooms and bedrooms are often spacious with low or no thresholds in the apartment.

Collective housing (kollektivboende)
Collective housing is a regular apartment building where you have your own apartment. There are common areas that you share with the other people living in your building. In these areas you can cook food together or socialize.
A housing cooperative (kooperativ hyresrätt)
A housing cooperative means that you become a member of a cooperative association from which you then rent the apartment.
